We’re pleased to be building the network of SPIN Dementia Network+ through forging a new collaborative link with the Concussion Legacy Foundation UK through which we are focussing on opportunities in brain health. Discussions with Nathan Howarth, Georgina Charlesworth, Chris Fox, and Emily Paremain explored how their shared missions can create powerful synergies.

Concussion Legacy Foundation UK’s focus on supporting individuals with concussion-related conditions, including Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), complements well with SPIN-D’s work on brain health and dementia risk factors.
SPIN-D, backed by ESRC, Alzheimer’s Society, and NIHR, is building a strong network of researchers, coproduction partners, industry, charity collaborators and people with lived experience of dementia. Highlighting innovative projects like the World Health Organization’s brain injury initiative, the discussion underscored the potential for transformative collaboration.

A particular focus in the discussion was the emphasis on sleep disorders, an often-overlooked but critical component of brain health.

Plans are already in motion for a compelling CTE-focused talk, aimed at broadening public awareness and sparking new conversations about the vital links between brain injury, CTE, and dementia. This partnership promises to drive forward the future of brain health research and support.
