I was diagnosed with PCA in 2016, prior to diagnosis I had been working as a Personal Care Assistant with folk with dementia. Since my diagnosis, I have become very heavily involved in meaningful Co Research. I am a Public Partner in Healthcare Improvement Scotland, where I sit on SIGN (the Scottish NICE), I am also Co Chair of a Govt Committee looking at dementia diagnosis rates in Scotland as they are not very accurate. I helped write the current Scottish National Dementia Strategy. Terry Pratchett called PCA “an embuggerance” hence the hat.
