Register as an Early Career Researcher

This form is for Early Career Researcher’s (ECRs) to register their interest in learning about opportunities that arise in the SPIN-D Network+.

SPIN-D Network+ seeks to link people together whose aims are to prevent dementia through behaviour change across three forms of prevention from the Care Act 2014. This includes:

  • Prevent primary dementia – risk reduction through enhancement of physical, social and cognitive reserve and resilience; includes lifestyle change across the life course and awareness raising),
  • Delay dementia symptoms with secondary prevention – early detection and lifestyle management
  • Reduce the impact of dementia through tertiary prevention – reduce post-diagnostic distress and excess disability through support and care.

In SPIN-D Network+ we want to be as inclusive as possible, recognising the varied career pathways people pursue. As such, an ECR can be anyone who is:

  1. completing their PhD,
  2. immediate post doctorate, or
  3. transitioning to an independent researcher.

Being over 10 years since you did your PhD, having a permanent contract, and/or successfully leading a project grant, may all be indicators that you are not an ECR, but this is not a guarantee.

Please only complete this registration form if your research interests align with the SPIN-D Network+ and that you feel you are classified as an ECR.
